About Walden West Foundation

MISSION

To empower the children of Santa Clara County to develop a life-long passion for science, engineering and environmental stewardship through supporting Walden West.

GOALS

  • Expand outdoor education learning experiences for Santa Clara County students through scholarships
  • Establish funds to provide for expenditures in line with Walden West goals
  • Provide funds for capital improvement

Our team is cohesive, with each member lending expertise and skill to the fundraising, marketing, and design components of our transformation of the Walden West campus.

In 2001 the Foundation embarked on a journey to upgrade Walden West’s 35-acre campus from a collection of old and obsolete structures to a state of the art, comprehensive science center. We are well on our way and much has been accomplished, but more work is needed.

We are looking for Foundation Board Members who can help us to reach our goal by providing time, treasury, and/or talent. Vital roles needed to help carry out our mission include: grant writing, fund development, board development, marketing, public relations/media, strategic planning and non-profit experience.

The ideal board candidate should have a passion for the environment and environmental responsibility, and for strengthening scientific and environmental literacy in the community. Additionally, it is our hope that the board reflects the diversity of Santa Clara County.

We welcome donations and gifts that will support Walden West programs and projects.

Meet the Walden West Foundation Board Members.
